Working Groups

Within the Society of Dance History Scholars, six working groups are currently active:

Dance History Teachers
Early Dance
Ethnicity and Dance
Interdisciplinary Approaches to Nineteenth Century Dance
Popular, Social and Vernacular Dance
Practice-as-Research
Reconstruction
Students in SDHS

These working groups meet during the SDHS annual conference and continue to network throughout the year via e-mail and postal mailings. Note that they are not mutually exclusive, as scholars specializing in early dance may also be involved in reconstruction, scholars interested in ethnicity and dance may also be involved in teaching dance history, and students may be interested in all of the above.
