East Coast Baroque Dance Workshop (Thomas Baird and Paige Whitley-Bauguess)

July 13-18, 2008

The East Coast Baroque Dance Workshop offers intensive study in the technique, style and performance practice of baroque and 18th century dance. The workshop is located an hour away from New York City, at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, USA.

Early Dance at Longy (Ken Pierce)

July 20-26, 2008Ê

An intensive workshop in early dance, with emphasis on baroque dance but also including a daily late-renaissance dance class. Intended for experienced dancers with a serious interest in early dance, the workshop will include classes in technique, repertoire, and dance notation, with opportunities for independent projects and performance.

7th Bagnacavallo summer workshop on early music and dance: L'Humor Bizzarro (Claudia Celi, Paolo Di Segni, Letizia Dradi, Bruna Gondoni)

July 28th to August 4th, 2008

Theatre course (30 hours total) includes 6 hours of early dance taught by Claudia Celi. Additional courses: Early XIX Century Ballroom dancing - Waltz Workshop with Paolo Di Segni; Baroque dancing and Workshop on Feuillet notation with Letizia Dradi; Renaissance dancing with Bruna Gondoni.

Three hour interdisciplinary workshops for dancers and musicians.

What: 18th Century Dance Classes offered by The New York Baroque Dance Company
When: Every first Saturday of the month from 3-4:30

Cost: only $12 per class!
Description: This open class with live music accompaniment on period instruments is open to amateurs and professionals.
Who can come? This class is open to professional dancers, teachers, students, musicians, singers, actors and dance enthusiasts. Expand your circle of friends as you meet new people and learn the proper way to offer a hand during the minuet or how to cut a caper in the jig! Ages 13 and up are welcome to join us.
What do I wear? Please wear a flexible dance shoe, no street shoes are allowed in the studios. Casual dance or exercise clothing is recommended
